Thursday

The bright side...

In my politics class we were talking about World War II, and about how Admiral Yamamoto lived in the United States for a while. He got a degree in Michigan (that's what my professor said, wikipedia says from Harvard- the details are unimportant) as an engineer and I believe my professor said he worked in the auto industry here for a while (also, not that important to my point). Then, he went home to Japan and was an admiral for the Japanese Navy. He was the one who instituted the idea of Pearl Harbor. The war was the most brutal in history with the most lives lost (I won't go in to too much persuasion, I think we can all agree to the gravity of the event).

The point of this story is... in my notes, right above where I was writing all of this down, I wrote (and I quote):

"Thanks for pulling us out of the depression though, bud."

Talk about looking on the bright side. Haha I just thought this was a funny story I wanted to share. Have a happy Thursday, almost through week 6! :)

Means to an end... Loved it. Hey Japan, talk about a plan blowing up in you face! Then with an atomic weapon being detonated in your grill... USA running the world for 50 years afterwards is like a kick to the groin. hehehe. ooohh... good stuff Dunny.

While I'm here, it is obvious that to get to that post, I had to read other posts... Friendships DO ruin feelings but there's possibly a good side of that sucky fact. I've NEVER been able to have a friend thats a girl and not not liked her. I ALWAYS do a "step back, deep breath, and evaluate" what this text/phone call/invite will do to my feelings or hers before I act. I have to look 1 week then 1 month and 1 year into the future with the person. Why? to save myself from a possible broken heart and subsequent weight loss from additional yet overwhelming stress and heartache? Hindsight says I've been saved from possibly many of those instances... At what cost though? Who knows why I'm still not married... except the One who controls the snow...but if I were to have taken some more chances with friendships, worn my heart on my sleeve, (as I have heard you say you are guilty of,) I could've had some AMAZING nights, conversations, road trips, cuddles, hospital trips, crys, laugh attacks with people I'll never have the opp to do that with ever again. Maybe even enjoy snowboarding throughout eternities with them as my very BEST friend and spouse. The polar opposites of the feeling spectrum: pure bliss and gut wrenching heartache, are part of God's plan for us that will, either way, bring us nearer to the Saviour. Win, win...win. Friendships are ALWAYS love but naturally and spiritually have their own levels/lines/boundries pre-programmed or built in. Were made to click with certain people. We as individuals can't control the others lines... unless forced or prevented. Forcing ourselves to do things or not do things, (of a hevenly persuit,) is prob not the healthiest. Afterall I believe it was...uh... SATAN that wanted to force us all back to God's presence. I know despite all the suckiness of breakups and ruined friendships, it will NEVER be worse than missing those awesome moments with those awesome people. Army has a phrase that I'm realizing I've lived my whole life and is part of my core down to the fibers. "Ebrace the suck." Absolutely LOVE it.

I'm resolved. Thanks, that helped;)
